Nirnay is a project under ACT, which is a Trust registered under the Bombay Public Trust   Nirnay(which means Decision in Hindi) was launched to help address the need for value-based sexual health education in the schools across the city of Mumbai; but today, it has also entered the foray of school counselling and training. The vision of the project is to impact the society in a positive way by empowering the youth to make responsible and right choices.   In the past decade or so, our country has encountered many shocking incidents of school going adolescents being involved in sexual crimes. Also there is seen a considerable in the prevalence of HIV/AIDS among the 15-24 age group.   In the light of such facts we realized that equipping our young generation about the ‘facts of life’ is essential, lest they fall for the half-truths and misconceptions provided by peers and the media.         Mission statement: ACT nirnay is committed to guide, educate and impart values to adolescents and teenagers, by equipping them to make responsible choices at various crossroads in life, in order to build healthy families, communities and a country that is free of HIV and other STDs.
